The "three-color document analysis" process takes longer than just "reading" a document, but the time is well spent. By using the highlighting and note-taking techniques discussed in class, you identify important data as well as formulate questions for further research. It is an extension of the material found on the "Reading Secondary Source" page.

For this assignment, click on the two links below and read the material. See Chuck if you missed the class on February 23rd or talk to one of your research team members.

Below are copies of my three-color document analysis of Ian Frazier's "Utopia, The Bronx: Co-op City and its People." You should not think of it as the "right" way to do the assignment. Instead, it is one of many valid ways to used the technique to analyze this source. I also included a copy of my notes and summary paragraph for the "Utopia: The Bronx" reading. If you have any questions on the process, please drop me an email or post something on "Chuck's Chat."
